Team building using a blog and email

Is it advisable and why would you want to use a blog for this  with email?

The blogging answer is simple by using an internal blogging platform questions can be posed and answered in house for referring to later. Why use internal email as well when I can use a messenger (i.m) program?

Because email is a great way to quickly refer to point made in a discussion group on the internal web system as most users can and often subdivide their in-boxes for easy reference at a glance.

Using an IM program is good for short quick messages such as “have you completed the….” internally using such things a twitter’s micro blogging platform which does not use huge amounts of computing power to run, just the browser on each machine means you do not have to have the most powerful machines for each worker, only a headless unit that does not need a hard drive just a network connection to the main office server.
